This week we have welcomed a number of visitors to the school, including governors and new staff. Sometimes I think we take for granted what a warm, professional and friendly environment we have here. It takes someone from the ‘outside’ to point this out to remind us and the feedback we had from visitors was overwhelmingly positive. The relationships between staff and students here remain our greatest quality and the key to our success.
The end of term is now fast approaching! Next week Year 10 will be on their residential trip with PGL. They’ll get to go climbing, do raft building, zip wiring and lots more. It will be a great way to end the year for them and will hopefully give them lots to talk about when they come back and do their spoken language endorsement for their GCSE English on Thursday and Friday. Term ends for them on Tuesday 20th July.
We have planned an action-packed Transition Week for Year 12 next week too, in which they will start thinking about and preparing for their university and apprenticeship applications. This means that when they come back to Year 13 in September, they should feel ready to secure their future plans. On Thursday, they will be going to Brighton; this trip is always a highlight for Year 12 students (and their teachers!). The weather looks great as well…
Just a reminder that Monday 19th July is ‘Meet Your Form Tutor’ Day. Your child will receive a full report and this is an opportunity to have a really good conversation around all aspects of this last year, as well as looking towards next year. If you do not have an appointment, please contact your child’s Form Tutor to make one. What better way to mark the end of the restrictions!
As ever, below is a reminder of all the key dates for the remaining few weeks of term. Following feedback from students, we have decided not to run the second ‘Step Up to Sixth Form’ week in August, but there will be a transition day for A level students on Friday 13th August.
Have a lovely weekend!

- Monday 12th July – Friday 16th July: Year 12 Transition week including Brighton Day Trip and end of year Assembly.
