At Logic Studio School, inclusion is not an add-on; it is embedded in the very fabric of our professional culture. In line with our core ethos – Look Forwards, Look Outwards, Take Action – we are passionately committed to offering an inclusive curriculum that secures the best possible progress and preparation for the future for every student, whatever their needs or abilities.

We operate a professional business environment where relationships between staff and students are exceptionally strong. As a small, close-knit community, we ensure that every young person is treated as an individual professional-in-training, meaning no student is left behind or lost in the crowd.

Our Core Principles of Inclusion

• Design for Difference by Default: We believe high-quality, adaptive classroom teaching is the right of every learner. Our specialised, practical curriculum in Business, Computing, and Creative Media is intentionally designed to be accessible, allowing students to leverage technical, creative, and vocational strengths.
• Removing Barriers to Participation: Whether through our Personal development days, industry placements, or field trips, we proactively adapt our environments and activities so that students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can fully participate and thrive alongside their peers.
• A Professional Partnership: We work transparently and collaboratively with parents, carers, and external support agencies. We recognise that families are the true experts on their children, and we maintain an open-door policy to ensure support remains dynamic and effective.
• A Culture of Belonging: We cultivate a safe, orderly, and respectful environment where diversity is celebrated as an asset to team collaboration – a vital skill for the modern workplace.

The Graduated Approach in Action: Data, Coaching, and Review

We do not wait for termly data drops or annual reviews to check if a student is thriving. Because we are a small school, our identification and monitoring loops are continuous, rigorous, and deeply personalised.

1. The Adaptive Coaching Model (APDR)

Every student at Logic has available benefits from 1-to-1 professional coaching. For our students with SEND, these targeted coaching sessions are explicitly mapped to the statutory Graduated Approach mandated by the UK SEND Code of Practice (2015). Our coaches formally log and structure their intervention meetings around four clear pillars:

• Assess: Reviewing recent classroom progress, teacher feedback, and the student’s own reflections on their learning.
• Plan: Collaboratively setting short-term, actionable, professional targets.
• Do: Implementing tailored classroom adjustments, assistive technologies, or workplace accommodations.
• Review: Testing the real-world impact of those adjustments before starting the cycle again.

2. Weekly Responsive Data Monitoring

Inclusion at Logic is highly proactive. Every single week, subject teachers log Effort Data for all students. This data is reviewed weekly by the SENDCO and pastoral teams as an early-warning system. It allows us to spot subtle fluctuations in engagement, behavior, or well-being immediately, meaning we can adjust classroom support or deploy a coaching intervention in real time rather than waiting for academic terms to end.

3. Student-Owned Outcomes

In line with our value to Take Action, we ensure our young people are at the center of their own provision. Students actively review their own weekly effort data and progress targets with their coaches. This builds the independence, self-advocacy, and resilience required to succeed in higher education and aspirant modern careers.
