Half-term is here

Here we are at the end of another half term at Logic, living in the world of the eternal countdown it would seem. Either to the next half term, the next coursework deadline, the next parents event, or terminal exams. Just this week we spoke with Year 11 about there being 16 weeks between now and the external exams. Striking a balance between preparedness and causing unnecessary anxiety is tough. It is always our intention to approach this from a supportive stand point.

After half term we welcome Year 10 and Year 12 parents to our Subject Teacher Evenings. This will give you an opportunity to speak with all of your child’s teachers to get a much more detailed view of their progress to this point. Our Year 10 evening will be held on Thursday 22nd February with our Year 12 evening the week after on the 29th February. Both evenings take place between 4pm and 7pm and we thank you for your commitment in attending.

As is typical in our final week of term, students have been busy undertaking a myriad of activities in support of their Personal Development. This has seen a University trip to St Mary’s, a speed networking event supported by 21 business professionals from a range of professional backgrounds, talks from MyBank on personal finance and from apprenticeship providers, revision and much more. A huge thank you to all staff for making this possible and for students for getting involved!

When we return after half term our Year 11 and Year 13 students will be sitting mock exams across all subjects. We have included details below to support your awareness of key dates during this period. As a reminder, we do not operate ‘Study Leave’ at any time as we believe that the best learning happens when students are with their subject teachers. Please remember to congratulate your child, no matter their age, for engaging in revision activities over the break. You are a key motivator at this time!

Have a great week and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 19th February.
