Employer Engagement |Induction Programme for Logic Yr12

On Wednesday September 18th, Year 12 took part in a Motivational Talk and the ‘world renowned’ London Scramble as part of their Employer Engagement Induction Programme.

During the morning, we welcomed Manley Hopkinson who spoke to the students about leadership, challenging themselves and making the most of their opportunities in life. Manley is a former Navy officer, BT Global Challenge Skipper and North Pole Explorer and currently works with businesses and organisations across the world, supporting their leadership and staff training programmes. He shared stories of his own experiences and the challenges he has faced, as well as those of people he has worked with over the last 20 years.
In the afternoon, Year 12 departed for London Waterloo and took part in the London Cultural Scramble. This activity sees students working in teams to solve a series of clues, identifying famous cultural locations in London. Students then plan the fastest route to these locations, taking pictures to show their completion of the course. This gives students the opportunity to explore London, see some of the many famous cultural activities London has to offer, as well as developing problem solving and teamwork skills. Plus, its great fun!!
Next week, students will undertake ‘taster lessons’ in different activities to help them decide on their Employment pathway for Year 12.
