Logic Studio School
Rather unbelievably we are almost at the end of the first half term. It is amazing to see how far our students have come in such a short space of time. Our new students are now well established in all of our routines and expectations and are thriving. Year 11 and 13 are getting set for assessments and are making great progress.
The half term dates vary greatly by school and by borough at this time of year. I am acutely aware of this as my own children start half term next week whilst I am still in school. As a reminder to all parents, students at Logic are expected in next week for Personal Development week. Students will finish this half term on Thursday 22nd October. Though most students return on Thursday 5th November, those students in Year 12 and 13 that have GCSE resit exams will be in on Tuesday 3rd November for English and Wednesday 4th November for maths.
There are further details below about our plans for Personal Development Week. The additional events that are planned through these weeks help students to develop a broader skills set and frequently focus on communication and teamwork skills. These are also weeks where the normal timetable is disrupted. We have talked through these changes in school, but if you know that your child struggles with changes to routine then please to run through this with them again over the weekend. As ever, full attendance is expected at all times.
Looking ahead there is a lot going on next half term; meet the form tutor and our own Open Evening event will take place in November. This is followed in December by our assessments for Year 11 and Year 13.
I wanted to make a final plea for another parent governor to come forward. I was delighted to be approached by a parent after our first request, they will be attending their first meeting in January. If you are interested in joining this parent in support of our school please do reach out for a chat and we can discuss the role in more detail.
Have a wonderful half term when it arrives!
