Urban regeneration: Year 11 geography
Year 11 students visited the Olympic park to look at urban regeneration on 16th October as their field work in geography. They compared the differences of Canning Town and New Town. The students went on a walk through Canning Town and took many pictures. The year 11 students saw the negative impacts of the New Olympic Park in Canning Town such as people being kicked out their homes and losing their jobs. However they got to see the positive impacts of the new Olympic Park for example they saw brand new offices meaning more Tertiary jobs in New Town. The students also completed surveys in both Canning Town and New Town to collect people’s opinions on the regeneration.
