Year 13 Futures Outline
Wednesdays Period 6 and 7 – 2.20pm start.
Wednesday January 28th
These are optional sessions that students can attend and will run as below. It is up to students
to decide what is the best use of their time and whether they wish to use the support provided or
work at home on this day:
● 1 to 1 Apprenticeship Appointments with Careers Lead Jo Lane – students need to email in advance to book.
● BTEC Coursework Support – Room 1 / Individual study and Revision – Room 4
Wednesday February 4th
● Apprenticeship Event Preparation – this is for ANY STUDENT who is considering any levels of Apprenticeship for September We will also run:
● BTEC Coursework Support – Room 1 / Individual study and Revision – Room 4
Wednesday February 11th
● Apprenticeship Event LIVE! (Cyber Cafe)
This is for ANY STUDENT who is considering any levels of Apprenticeships for September
We will also run:This will involve a number of local employers and Apprenticeship providers and is open to all students who are considering this for September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to meet with recruiters who are actively looking for new apprentices; to ask questions; and to hear from them about the life of an apprentice and the roles that companies have available.
We will also run:
● BTEC Coursework Support – Room 1 / Individual study and Revision – Room 4 Post half term, we have a range of different workshops and talk aimed at supporting students with their post 18 choices. Students should be attending the sessions that are most relevant to them and their future.
Wednesday February 25th
● All UCAS Students – Student finance Applications and Support – a talk by Brunel University
● All Apprenticeship only Students (not UCAS) – Jo Lane will continue to run weekly sessions to support your applications

● BTEC Coursework Support – Room 1 / Individual study and Revision – Room 4 Wednesday March 18th My Leap Sales Course Part 1
● This is for any student who is interested in a career in Business, Sales and Marketing.
● Students will need to sign up in advance with Jo and spaces are limited. We will also run:

● This is for any student who is interested in a career in Business, Sales and Marketing.
● Students will need to sign up in advance with Jo and spaces are limited.
● You must have attended Part 1 to attend this session.
Linkedin Workshop
● This is for all other Year 13 students and will support them in setting up a professional Linkedin account or offer hints and advice to improve their existing accounts. Post Easter, we will update you on the next steps and plan including revision sessions, workshops, exams and student support
