Year 10 covid case 14.12.2020

Dear Parent / Carer,

We have just been made aware of a Year 10 student in our school community who tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday afternoon and we were informed of this at 9am this morning. This student was last in school on Tuesday 8th December. A 2nd student has also displayed symptoms over the weekend and is undergoing a test today.

Due to the nature of this small group and the identified contacts of these students, we have made the decision to send all Year 10 students home for the remainder of the week. Students will be set work on Google Classroom to complete this week, with each subject providing 2-3 hours of work to complete. Lessons will not be live streamed due to PBL Week.

We know that you may find this concerning but we want to reassure you that we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child. For most people, Coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness and people recover quickly.

Further details provided by Public Health England can be found below.

Yours faithfully,

Jay Lockwood
