Tier 2 Covid Risk Category Letter

Dear Parents and Students,

As you will know London has now been placed into a Tier 2 Covid risk category. As a result we are now changing our approach to face masks, which will come into operation on Monday 19th October. The Department for Education is advocating the wearing of masks by all staff and students when moving around the school.  As a result:

  • The use of a face mask is now required in all communal areas of the school, namely the cyber cafe, corridors and toilets. This will be removed within the classroom.
  • Students may continue to wear a clear face shield in class, so as to facilitate learning.

Obviously there are only 2 school days until half term and we are looking carefully at how this will work so that we can be very clear with our expectations on the wearing of masks when we return from half term, particularly in terms of style and storage. We will be communicating these expectations to you shortly – but it is important to get this right.

We would like to reassure you that we are taking every possible precaution for our students, in line with current Government guidance. The school will be constantly monitoring and risk assessing our procedures and external advice. Further advice and our full procedures for staff and students are available on the school website.

Yours faithfully,

Jay Lockwood
