Traineeships

Traineeships

Are you focussed on getting a job or apprenticeship but lacking the work experience and skills to get you in the door?

A traineeship could be right for you.

Government Funded Traineeships

Traineeships are a Government funded scheme aimed at supporting students who are looking for apprenticeships and employment over the age of 16.

Flexible education and training programme. Most last between 6-12 weeks but can last up to 12 months.

The aim is to provide you with a structured programme of support to further enhance their skills, experience and understanding of the workplace as you look towards the next stage of your career.

By completing further qualifications and undertaking a work placement with a local company, you will be able to enhance your CV and boost your employability.

This is an unpaid programme, although you may be able to access expenses for travel through the employer’s funding for this project.

Logic Traineeships

If the longer traineeship isn’t for you, Logic offers a shorter traineeship option.

Logic will provide training on relevant employability skills and professional competencies and sessions on CV writing.

The employer will then provide a 2 week traineeship for students. This is not funded by the government, but offers a more flexible approach without the lengthy requirements to obtain funding.

Government Funded Traineeships

  • 70-240 hours of work experience.
  • Some employers may offer technical professional qualifications as part of the traineeship.
  • Occupational traineeships are currently being piloted. The aim of an occupational traineeship is to provide a guaranteed apprenticeship on successful completion of the traineeship.
  • You will gain experience for you and your CV.
  • You will see and experience what it is like to work in a real job and in a particular industry.
  • You will develop your employability skills in a work environment.
  • You can find out what you like; what you don’t like; what you are good at; and what you might struggle with.
  • If you do well, you may be offered a job with the company. If not, your experience and the additions to your CV and interview discussion will help you with another job.
