Logic was very lucky to welcome prestigious guest speaker Professor Mischa Dohler (Kings College London), who stopped off on the way to a meeting about the launch of new telecommunications satellites to talk to our Year 12 IT students about the big data and the ‘internet of things’.
My Logic experience so far has been great! It's different from the other schools because we do a lot of different activities. For example, our Wednesday’s are completely different. Some students go on work placements, which is going to other companies and working with them. Last term I did this and it was very interesting and helpful to understand what kind of job I would like to do. We also visit different companies such as Premier Inn, Perform and Sky.
Logic Year 12 students recently visited SAP Technologies as part of their Employer Engagement programme. This sees students attend a different business each Wednesday, with the aim to develop their knowledge, understanding and awareness of local employers and the potential opportunities for them when the leave Logic.
What a great day to be part of, giving a flavour of how it will be to join our very new Sixth Form. A Sixth Form of the future, quality assured and individualised to maximise your success.
The day started with Yr 11 students all being given the opportunity to have a one to one mock interview with someone from a business background. Thank you to all of our business partners for making this such a worthwhile experience. The feedback was very positive from both the interviewers and interviewees. This will be the first of many such opportunities that you will receive at TPET Sixth Form.
Wednesday saw the latest stage in the Logic Year 12 Employer Engagement Programme and a busy day at the school.
With Year 12 students having previously submitted CV's and application letters to businesses in their chosen career field, Wednesday saw them interviewing to try and gain work placements with some of our employer partners.
